I would like to thank Dr. Jeff Early, Assistant Superintendent for Operations, Mrs. Ann Cassada, Assistant Superintendent for Support Services, Mr. Mike Hutson, Director of Maintenance & Facilities, Mr. Kenyon Scott, Director of Pupil Transportation, their staff, principals, and school staff for the hard work each did over the weekend and this week to ready the schools for students to return.

Middle Border Forward Presentation:
Participants in the Middle Border Forward program visited the STEM Academy on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Ms. Deborah Powell, Principal of the Regional Alternative School and STEM Academy, and STEM Academy teachers, Mrs. Jill Collins, Mrs. Tommie Evans, and Mr. Jacob Taylor, shared information about the programs offered at the STEM Academy with this group of approximately 20 young professionals. Also, the accomplishments of the school division were highlighted and discussed.

School Board Policy GBO-PC, Retirement System, Remains Unchanged:
After consulting with attorneys and the chief officer with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), it has been determined that revisions to School Board Policy GBO-PC, Retirement System, will not need to be made. Therefore, the Early Retirement Incentive Program (ERIP) will remain as written with no changes to the plan.
