Stony Mill Elementary School is pleased to announce that Mrs. Allyson Bartley has been chosen as the “Employee of the Week.” Mrs. Bartley has been employed by Pittsylvania County Schools as a Teacher’s Aide in the Excel Preschool Program for 10 years. She has worked most of those years at Stony Mill Elementary School but was transferred to Southside Elementary School for one of those years. Mrs. Bartley is a pleasure to work with. She is hard working, dedicated and dependable. Mrs. Bartley has a positive and joyful spirit that inspires everyone around her. Mrs. Bartley enjoys working with Preschool students because every day presents a new opportunity. She loves seeing the excitement on a child’s face when they finally understand a concept that has been hard for them. Mrs. Bartley finds Preschool especially rewarding because it is an opportunity to teach young-learners problem solving skills that will last a lifetime.
Mrs. Bartley is originally from Clarksville, Virginia. She moved to Danville 30 years ago and is married to Ray Bartley. They have two sons, Ryan and Evan, and several pets. Mrs. Bartley enjoys music, reading, and crafting during her free time. Congratulations to Mrs. Bartley on her much deserved selection as Pittsylvania County Schools’ Employee of the Week.
