Gretna Middle School (GMS) would like to recognize Dr. Thomas Takacs as our Employee of the Week!
Dr. Takacs has been at GMS since 2018, serving as our Assistant Principal. Dr. Takacs has a wealth of knowledge in curriculum. He has a Bachelor's Degree in History, Masters in Administration and Supervision, and most recently his Doctorate in Curriculum. Dr. Takacs has two children that currently attend Pittsylvania County Schools and a wife who also works at Union Hall Elementary School.
Dr. Takacs is often seen going above and beyond to help meet the needs of the students and staff of GMS. Cleaning cafeteria tables and assisting students in finding classes or materials are only two examples of his willingness to contribute to making Gretna Middle School a place where students and staff want to be.
His knowledge of curriculum and instruction pour into every conversation in which he engages making him a great resource for the teachers. His passion about instruction and teaching students to be productive citizens and lifelong learners is evident to all. Dr. Takacs’s willingness to delve into a problem area and seek out a solution is a wonderful asset as we have navigated unfamiliar territory in recent months.
Because of his willingness to assist, his knowledge, and his passion for learning, Gretna Middle School is fortunate to have Dr. Thomas Takacs as a leader in our learning community.
