Employee of the Week

John L. Hurt, Jr. Elementary School would like to recognize Mr. John Dudley as our Employee of the Week!  Mr. Dudley serves as one of our bus drivers.  He does a wonderful job, has great discipline, and most importantly, the children love him!  But, aside from his bus driving duties, Mr. Dudley has helped us tremendously this year.  He goes above and beyond the call of duty.  He is always willing to help out at school, no matter the task.  When we were in a bind, Mr. Dudley agreed to work every day as a substitute PE teacher!  We were very grateful for his help!  Then, when we were short-handed again, Mr. Dudley helped out and has served as a long-term aide in a special education classroom.

Mr. Dudley is active in the community and in his church.  His wife of 40 years, Shari Dudley, is a familiar face at our School Board Office.  They have 2 children, and 3 grandsons.  In his spare time, Mr. Dudley likes to spend time with his family and get on his old 2040 John Deere tractor.  He also serves on the "Chain Gang" at the Gretna High School football games.

Mr. Dudley is always cheerful and has a smile on his face.  No matter if he is driving the bus for his daily route, driving for a field trip, serving as PE teacher or aide, he's done a fantastic job and we are most appreciative.  We are very blessed to have him at our school.

We love Mr. Dudley!
