Employee of the Week - Martin Smith
February 27 - March 3, 2023
Martin Smith has been a school counselor since moving to Virginia in the summer of 2002. He began working for PCS in the fall of 2006 at Chatham Elementary School. In 2012 he was transferred to Kentuck Elementary School and has been there since. He loves interacting with kids and enjoys being surrounded by a wonderful group of coworkers. He will be retiring at the end of this school year, and though he is looking forward to the next chapter in his life, he will greatly miss being part of the daily activities, conversations, laughter, and creative energy found in such a vibrant school community. Martin lives in Chatham with his wife Carol. Their son Andy lives in the Washington D.C. area. He feels very blessed for his time with Pittsylvania County Schools and has great hope and expectations for the wonderful things that will be happening in education in the coming years.
