Employee of the Week - Maggie Oakes

Mt. Airy Elementary is pleased to announce Ms. Maggie Oakes, school counselor, as their employee of the week. Although Ms. Oakes has only been at Mt. Airy for this school year, she has quickly formed relationships with both students and staff. Her sincerity, true kindness, and willingness to be an advocate for our students makes it seem like she has always been a part of our Mt. Airy family!
Ms. Oakes has been working in education for 10 years, with this being her second year as a counselor. She previously taught English at Gretna High School. Outside of school, Ms. Oakes enjoys working part-time at Creek and Meadow Vet, reading, and spending time with family, friends, and her cats. She states, "Mt. Airy is a great place to work. The students are wonderful, and the staff has been so welcoming and helpful."
