John L. Hurt, Jr. Elementary School (HES) is proud to announce that Jennifer Roark is our Employee of the Week. Mrs. Roark has taught for over 22 years in three different school systems. Fourteen of those years have been as a kindergarten teacher at HES.
Jennifer Roark is married and is the mother of three adult children. She has two married daughters and a son who will be attending Virginia Tech. Additionally, she has a grandchild on the way.
The Roarks have lived in Altavista for 24 years. They are very involved in their small town community. Mrs. Roark enjoys spending time with family and friends, floating the river and visiting fun venues.
She loves teaching and enjoys all parts of the job. Thank you, Mrs. Roark, for all you do at HES.
