Employee of the Week: Joy Childress

Tunstall Middle School would like to recognize Joy Childress as our Employee of the Week! Ms. Childress serves as our school nutrition manager.
Ms. Childress arrives very early each morning to make sure all students have a delicious choice of meals for breakfast and lunch. As COVID has caused a shortage of staff, Ms. Childress has worked overtime to make sure that students continued to have meals each day. She is always positive and caring to our students and staff.
Ms. Childress has been married for 45 years to Billy. She has two children, Sara and Matthew. She has one grandson, Ian, who attends Tunstall Middle. She has worked for PCS for 26 years. She began her career at Twin Springs Elementary and moved to Tunstall Middle School when it opened. She attends Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoys reading and vacationing on Emerald Isle with her extended family.
We are thankful for Ms. Childress’ commitment to our school. Everyone feels welcomed in our cafeteria because of her.
