Chatham High School (CHS) is delighted to recognize Mrs. Mary East, our outstanding nurse, as the Pittsylvania County Schools' Employee of the Week! She is a graduate of Gretna High School and Danville Community College. She has been employed with Pittsylvania County Schools for 23 years, with the past nine years at Chatham High School.
Nurse East is our smiling superhero and simply the best. She works tirelessly to keep everyone in our school healthy and safe. She is a team player; always willing to help out where she is needed. Her compassion for others is second to none. Nurse East says, “I’m very thankful to work with the faculty and staff here at CHS! It’s great to have the help, support, and friendship of my co-workers.”
Nurse East is happily married to Delvin East. They have three children and four grandchildren. She loves spending time with her grandchildren. She is a Sunday School teacher at Sheva Church. She enjoys embroidering, reading, gardening, and the beach. But by far, she relishes and is thankful for their family farm.
Nurse East, we appreciate you and are extremely fortunate to have you as a member of our Cavalier family. It is evident that you are making a difference in the lives of our students at Chatham High School!
