Employee of the Week - Tara Taylor

Gretna Elementary School (GES) recognizes Mrs. Tara Taylor as its Employee of the Week. Mrs. Taylor has served Pittsylvania County Schools in different capacities since 2000, currently as a Title I Teacher at Gretna Elementary School. She is celebrating her 22nd year of collaborating with staff and students for reading as we work to close the Learning Gap created by Covid. She delights in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for students and she enjoys seeing the students improve and succeed.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Gretna High School, received her Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech, and her Master's degree from UVA.
Mrs. Taylor is married to Mr. Rodney Taylor. They live in Gretna, Virginia. They have two sons, Tyler, and his wife Malorie, and Tanner, and his wife Sabrina, and one daughter, Elizabeth. They have two grandchildren Braelynn and Blaine with a third one on the way in the spring.
Mrs. Taylor enjoys spending her free time with her children, and grandchildren. She loves to read and enjoys traveling.
She loves working with children across multiple grade levels and seeing them make progress.
GES is thankful and proud to have Mrs. Taylor as part of our Hawk family and to recognize her as the Employee of the Week! She is an asset to our students, our school, and our community!
