In November 2022, Pittsylvania County voters approved a 1% sales tax referendum designed to assist with infrastructure needs for Pittsylvania County Schools.
The 1% sales tax increase collection began July 1, 2023, and will be in effect until February 15, 2042. The money can only be spent to address new school capital infrastructure needs. Visit the Pittsylvania County website for more information
